💬 Posts and Content for Social Media Learning Module

Free lessons with sources, a short quiz and progress saved in your browser.

Write posts that carry one point and the proof behind it, turn a single article into a week of material, keep a calendar you can actually stick to, handle comments without feeding trolls, and read your numbers for what they really say. A module of Journalism Training, 7 lessons.

What is included: 7 lessons and pages
  1. How the Platforms Differ 14 min
Who uses each major platform, what kind of post travels there, how each one treats links, and the current limits on length and image size.
  2. Anatomy of a Post 12 min
Build a post from a first line that stops the scroll, one point, a receipt, a clear ask, a well-placed link and only the hashtags that help.
  3. One Article, a Week of Posts 13 min
Break one reported article into a week of separate posts: pull quotes, a chart, a document image, a short reel and a thread.
  4. A Content Calendar You Can Keep 11 min
Set a posting pace you can hold for a year, batch the work into one or two sittings, and run it from a one-page weekly table.
  5. Comments, Moderation and Community 13 min
Decide which comments get a reply, which get ignored, which get hidden or blocked, and how to keep records when someone crosses the line.
  6. Rebutting a False Claim Without Spreading It 13 min
Correct a bad claim using the truth sandwich, verify before you post, choose between a screenshot and a quote-post, label AI images and fix your own mistakes in public.
  7. Reading the Numbers 12 min
Tell reach, views, engagement, follows and clicks apart, decide which ones matter for a civic writer, and stop chasing the ones that don't.
