Reel Saver for Facebook 1.1.0
Chrome extension. Saves a Facebook reel or video to your computer.

INSTALL (one time)
1. Unzip this folder somewhere it can stay, for example C:\Tools\ReelSaver.
Chrome runs it from that folder, so don't delete it afterwards.
2. In Chrome go to chrome://extensions
3. Turn on Developer mode (switch, top right).
4. Click "Load unpacked" and pick the unzipped folder (the one with manifest.json in it).
5. Click the puzzle piece on the toolbar and pin Reel Saver so the icon stays visible.
6. Reload any Facebook tab that was already open.

USE
- Open a reel. A green "Download reel" button sits at the bottom left of the page.
Click it. Files go to Downloads\Facebook Reels.
- Most reels come as a separate picture track and sound track. One click saves three
files: the video track, the audio track (both exactly as Facebook sent them), and
one MP4 with the two joined. No ffmpeg needed, no quality loss.
- Reels that come as one ready-made file with sound save as that one file.
- A note above the button shows progress and says when everything is saved.
- Or click the toolbar icon. It lists every video the page has loaded, with the one
you're looking at on top. "Save best quality" does the same as the page button.
Save HD and Save SD are single files with sound.
- The number on the icon is how many videos the page has loaded so far.
- Gray button, or "No video links found": let the reel play a second, then click
again or press "Look again" in the toolbar list.

KEYFRAMES
- "Keyframes" in the toolbar list saves every keyframe of the video as a full-size
JPG, in a folder named "Facebook reel <number> keyframes" inside Facebook Reels.
Each file name has the time it appears, for example "keyframe 03 at 0m10s".
- Tick "Also save keyframes as pictures" to get them on every Download reel click.
- Facebook puts a keyframe about every 2 to 5 seconds, so a 30 second reel gives
  roughly 6 to 15 pictures.

SETTINGS (toolbar list, bottom)
- Also save keyframes as pictures: off unless you tick it.
- Ask where to save the finished video: off unless you tick it.
- Show the Download reel button on reel pages: untick to hide the button.

WHAT IT DOES AND DOESN'T DO
- Nothing downloads unless you click.
- It reads the video links Facebook already sends to your own browser. No account,
no outside server, nothing sent anywhere.
- It only ever downloads from Facebook's own servers (facebook.com, fbcdn.net).
- Saves never overwrite: a second copy gets (1) added to its name.
- Joining and keyframes happen inside Chrome on your computer (mp4.js, offscreen.js).
- Facebook changes its page code often. If it stops finding videos, the place to fix
is parser.js; after editing parser.js or src\inject.js, run build.sh (or copy the
two files together into page.js) and click the reload arrow on chrome://extensions.

Respect the creator's rights: fine for your own reels, reference, and fair use.
